4x01 - Showdown
Jack, Samantha and Danny search for the mercenary who escaped after killing the terrorist in Martin and Danny's custody and leaving the bullet-riddled Martin at death's door, on the fourth season premiere of WITHOUT A TRACE, Thursday, Sept. 29 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. John Showalter directed the episode written by David Amann, one of the series' co-executive producers.
Picking up where the third-season finale ended, Martin and Danny attempt to dodge a hail of bullets as a mercenary and his cronies attempt to kill their true target, an F.B.I. detainee whom Martin and Danny were transporting. Despite some quick thinking from Martin, who uses the car as a weapon against the shooters, and Danny, who manages to shoot one of the perpetrators, their prisoner is killed and Martin is left gravely injured. Now, Jack, Samantha and Danny try not to let their concern for Martin hinder their efforts to hunt down the mercenary -- which becomes more complicated once Martin's father, F.B.I. Deputy Director Victor Fitzgerald, and the Department of Homeland Security take active roles in the case. Meanwhile, Vivian's heart-surgery appears to have been a success.
WITHOUT A TRACE is a riveting procedural drama about the New York Missing Persons Squad of the F.B.I. The sole responsibility of the special task force is to find missing persons, by applying advanced psychological profiling techniques to peel back the layers of the victims' lives and trace their whereabouts in an effort to discover whether they have been abducted, been murdered, committed suicide or simply run away. The team reconstructs a "day of disappearance" timeline that details every minute of the 24 hours prior to the disappearance and digs into every facet of the victim's life, following one simple rule: learn who the victim is in order to learn where the victim is. Senior agent Jack Malone (Anthony LaPaglia), a tough but compassionate, seasoned and astute professional, heads the dedicated team that knows too well that every second counts when someone vanishes. His squad includes Samantha Spade (Poppy Montgomery), an agent whose blonde good looks belie a tough, complex approach to her work; Vivian Johnson (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), a no-nonsense investigator with a special insight into victims' families; Danny Taylor (Enrique Murciano), whose sensitivity is often covered up by his street smarts; and the strait-laced Martin Fitzgerald (Eric Close), who joined the team as a result of his father's connections but has since earned his stripes. As the agents work on varied and complicated cases, details about their own lives continue to unfold.

Re: SPOILERS - Episodes Saison 4 [Diffusion US]
Bonjour!

Re: SPOILERS - Episodes Saison 4 [Diffusion US]
4x02 Safe
Air Date: 10/6/05 (THURSDAY)
Episode Title: "Safe"
"Safe" -- The team investigates whether a 15-year-old whiz kid is missing of his own accord in order to execute his elaborate plan to bomb his high school, on WITHOUT A TRACE, Thursday, Oct. 6 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Jeannot Szwarc directed the episode from a script by David Grae.
Michael Welch ("Joan of Arcadia") guest stars as Lance, a school bully.
The team learns that the missing Ryan is an unpopular worrier who has obsessed about safety issues since his father's fatal mugging. They initially surmise that his disappearance may have something to do with the school bullies who picked a fight with Ryan at lunch the day prior. However, after determining that it was Ryan who wrote the ominous words "The End" on his own locker, and that he created a plan to bomb the school as a means of helping them institute effective security measures, the team wonders if he's a bomber in hiding or a victimized do-gooder. Meanwhile, a visibly weak Martin returns from his six-week convalescence and tries to convince himself and his colleagues that he's fine.

4x03 - From the Ashes
Roselyn Sanchez ("Rush Hour II") Joins the Cast
"From the Ashes" -- The team's newest member, F.B.I. rookie Elena Delgado, formerly of the N.Y.P.D., encounters a learning curve as she attempts to help search for a missing young prostitute, on WITHOUT A TRACE, Thursday, Oct. 13 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Series co-executive producer Timothy Busfield directed the episode written by Gwendolyn Parker. Roselyn Sanchez ("Rush Hour II") joins the cast as Elena Delgado.
The team soon discovers that the missing 20-year-old Dina Kingston is a prostitute whose ransacked apartment contained the charred remains of her black book of johns. Further investigation uncovers that Dina, who had recently attempted to commit suicide, was suddenly desperate for a large sum of money, which caused her to be much less discerning about her clients as she feverishly solicited more business. The street savvy Elena, who had excelled in the N.Y.P.D.'s Vice unit, initially believes this particular case is better suited for the homicide department. However, the team's subsequent leads and methods make Elena realize that, whether Dina's found dead or alive, she's definitely got a great deal to learn about the Missing Person's Squad. Meanwhile, Martin is becoming impatient with his slow physical recovery, and Elena and Danny are mum about how they know one another.

Re: SPOILERS - Episodes Saison 4 [Diffusion US]
Voici le résume du texte qui n'était pas très lisible

WHEN WE LEFT WITOUT A TRACE LAST SEASON, A LIFE WAS IN THE BALANCE. SO WHICH WAY WILL IT TIP? By Ileane Rudolp
Without a Trace
Thursdays, 10 PM/ET, CBS.
MAYBE IT S MISERABLE HUMIDITY ok downtown Manhattan in midsummer. Or it could be the work hour-2:30 Am. But Anthony LaPaglia seem every bit as exasperate and bull-headed as Jack Malone, the FBI Agent the plays on Without a Trace. “Good elfin research”, he mutters after catching a script error only a New Yorker (or a perfectionist actor playing one) would notice: Agent Martin Fizterald (Eric Close), shot in last season’s cliff-hanger, is about to be rushed to Bayley Seton Hospital-a real New York hospital, sure, but one that would be too far away from this precinct. “I don’t like when things are not accurate”, LaPaglia snipes.
Director John Showalter takes it all in stride. “You can’t get any than Anthony LaPaglia”, he says. “You can fight with him one minute and be hugging him the next”.
This night, in particular, LaPaglia can be forgiven his nitpicking. Anxious viewers will be scanning every detail to find out what’s happened in the wake of the bloody, third-season finale last May. Agents Martin and Danny Taylor (Enrique Murciano), along with their prisoner-an African revolutionary- were ambushed by a gang of assassins. As the new season begins, the prisoner lies dead-and Martin doesn’t seem far behind.
“What happens to martin sends Jack into a rage and Danny a tailspin”, reveals co-executive production Timothy Busfield. And Agent samatha Spade (Poppy Montgomery) will do some spinning too contending with old romantic feelings for Martin.
In other words, Season 4 will continue the deft blend of gut-wrenching crime procedural and soapy relationship drama that has catapulted Without a Trace beyond rival ER and into TV’ top 10. “It’s a whodunit” says Busfield, “but when you complicate that with personal problems, the stakes get higher.” Expect more of the romantic entanglements that spice up the show. Suck as?
SPOILER ALERT! Sam finally confesses her feelings to Martin -but he won't hear a word. "He's unconscious," Montgomery says. "So Sam tells him all the things she wishes she had but didn't because she has intimacy issues." Meanwhile, Malone, Sam's other one time lover, seems ready to move on from both her and his busted marriage.
He has another love interest this year- a woman from his past. There's also some bad blood between Danny and new colleague Elena Delgado (Roselyn Sanchez, joining the cast). Initially, Danny and Elena will do more clashing than kissing, but as show creator Hank Steinberg coyly points out, "conflict is an aphrodisiac". And don't expect any catfights between the two gorgeous female feds. We hear they do some heavy-duty bonding on an undercover assignment.
With no cast departures planned, the prognosis is good for the wounded Martin. Now whether he remembers all those sweet nothings whispered in his ear, who knows?"
